Monday 18/6/12 - Drive to Death Valley

Breakfast from the Fuel Cafe again and then we packed the car for our trip to Death Valley. On the way we stopped in at the Gracelands Chapel to buy some souvenirs.

Then we stopped at the Las Vegas premium outlets mall where we bought a new bag for all our new stuff, new underwear, 2 pairs of Levis 501s for Paul, 2 pairs @ $40 each! New pair of Nikes for me for $70. Plus a lovely Guess handbag. I haven't been able to find one similar in Australia so I am pleased with my purchase.....



We had lunch there. Paul got a turkey roll and I had pepperoni pizza.

We then drove to Death Valley and checked into the Furnace Creek Ranch Resort for the next three nights. We headed straight to the natural springs pool as it was nearly 50oC!
We spent the rest of the afternoon at the pool.




 




For dinner we went to the in house Wrangler Steak House.
Paul had a rump and I had filet mignon and we accompanied it with a Californian merlot.




After dinner we went to the general store and bought some souvenirs including some US chocolate bars to sample (York Bar, ReecesPeanut Butter Cups and Hersheys....)
